Initially I noticed some ringing from my free-hanging chandelier, and I saw some flat elements swinging, then I realized it was an earthquake unfolding before my eyes. In no other circumstances does the chandelier swing.
My observation was that the seismic waves traveled in the general NW-SE direction; due to the construction of the chandelier only some flat elements were shaking. That observation was later confirmed.
Also, the shaking lasted for approx. 1 minute or a little more. I assume it also took some time for the shaking to grow to its full amplitude, So it's almost sure to surpass 1 minute mark. My conclusion was it was distant and relatively strong based on what I know about past earthquakes, which, I assume, was also confirmed.
While it lasted I noticed my other chandelier mildly shaking; also shaking was my half-opened door.
If it wasn't for the chandelier I wouldn't have noticed it at all; even observing the aforementioned shaking with my own eyes I couldn't sense it. I assumed some resonant frequencies might have contributed to some visible shaking. Also, the shaking was so light I probably would have missed it entirely if one of my chandeliers didn't ring.
My estimate is that the frequency was in single Hertz range, give or take (can't tell for sure, wasn't trying to calculate at that moment).
Once I realized it was actually an earthquake the swinging amplitude was stabilized, based on that I concluded that it was unlikely to grow stronger. Also, considering there there was a 7.3 magnitude earthquake with 2 comparably strong aftershocks in 2003 in the region it seemed unlikely that something of a similar magnitude was about to happen. So no action was taken and I took my time to observe and draw conclusions.
Probably it's not a foreshock building up to a stronger earthquake. However, some aftershocks might be expected in the following days. Given the lucky circumstances to be able to observe this earthquake it is unlikely any follow-up would be registered by me.0

Спал, и через сон ощущаю как меня на лево-на право качает, проснулся и сижу, меня качает, длилось это минуту где-то. Я был сонный и одновременно в шоке находился. Уже представлял как дом начинается падать разрушаться. Было страшно.+1
